Our Policies

SOME PAPERWORK

We want to be transparent about the way we conduct journalism on the ground and online. So here are our Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, Complaint Procedure and Retraction Policy. We’d love your feedback on our policies.

If the behaviour of our reporters is not in line with our policies, please let us know as soon as possible.

CODE OF ETHICS

Honesty, courage, fairness, independence, validity and accuracy are some of the standards we uphold as shared in our Code of Ethics.

CODE OF CONDUCT

We can’t express how much we respect the people that share their difficult moments with us. We want to make it as minimally invasive as possible and conduct ourselves accordingly.

FUNDING POLICY

Our Funding Policy in one sentence: funding from any kind of donor will never impact our editorial independence.

PLAGIARISM POLICY

Plagiarism is a serious offence. We want to offer original unique content, so here is our Plagiarism Policy.

RETRACTION POLICY

Let’s hope we never have to retract an article, but it’s better to be prepared and share our procedure upfront. So here is our Retraction Policy.

COMPLAINT POLICY

If our journalists don’t behave professionally or you think an article is not ethical, please contact us as soon as possible.

ANTI-FRAUD POLICY

We are committed to protecting the (public) funds that have been entrusted to us.
